Tae was given a sweater for christmas last year that just needed to be seamed and then the neckline knitted on. So I am definitely not the only one who has given presents that are still on the needles. It was a 1-2 years so I had lots of time to get to it as he was only 2 months so. So it got set aside and ignored.
I pulled it out the other day and was determined to finish it off and then the extra yarn could go back to my mom and I could really use the room for all the other yarn goodies that I have. I noticed that the sides of both the front and the back were different but I wasn't about to tear the entire thing apart and reknit it. I did end up changing how the neck was done. I don't understand why one would put a seam in the neck of a baby sweater of you don't need to.
The arms, well that was a different story, while they matched each other while lying flat once attached to the sweater they wouldn't. The pattern has it so that one side of the arm is in stockinette while the other is in garter. And as the two sleeves are done the same if attached one would have the garter showing while the other would have the stockinette. So I pulled them out and am slowly starting to reknit them. Having a little boy who is not feeling well and does not want to be put down is not helping.
The kids and I are having dinner with Mom and Dad on Saturday and I really want to have it done so a little man can wear his new sweater for his grandma. I really hope that I'm not up most of the night on Friday trying to finish it.
Life with 3 kids, a mess of a house and working towards eventually making it the home of our dreams. If we ever find the time and the energy.

Sippy cups are not for soup.
I saw this great idea on a blog a while ago, but your kids soup in a
sippy cup with the plug out and so much less mess. Well someone didn't
go for it. I gave him a taste of the soup to see if he would eat it.
Like most things he gobbled it up. So into the sippy cup the soup goes
and once placed in front of him he pushed it away. So I try to give him
a few more mouthfuls even opening the sippy and taking some out while
he watches. Spoon goes in the mouth no problem, So I try to had him his
cup once more and he tries to shoot it down the table at his sister.
I guess in Tae's world soup must be served in a proper bowl and with spoon. No easy outs with this little boy.

Letter to J
Dearest Jellybean
This year will be another adventure for you. A lot of thing to see, learn and do. Fun birthday parties with friends, finishing kindergarten and becoming on of the bigger kids in grade one. You are growing up so fast and surprise me at very turn. I can't wait to see those pigtails flying on the soccer field and the shoulders back stance you take right before you bow in your highland testing at the end of the year. So strong and determined you are. In less than three months you will be turning 6, I'm still shocked thats its been almost 6 years since your Dad and I first met you. The wonder at the fire engine hair that you had and the temper that we soon learned went with it. You are growing into such a young lady and a great big sister.
You are becoming such an artist, something that I wish I could do. One would thing that you are your Aunt's child not mine. Maybe my feet just didn't grow big enough to carry that trait. You amaze me kiddo.
My wishes for you this year is to be happy, continue to soak up everything thing you can and just be yourself. There are so many places that I hope you are able to see and if we can then this might be the year to start. I know that parts of the last few months have been a little scary at times but we all made it through.
To another year of making amazing memories with you. Enjoy 2012 my sweet Jellybean.
